SOPA Austin is delighted to introduce our very own Pre-Professional Company!
Our SPOTLIGHT students will have the chance to audition into and then take part in a school year training program (Sept-May from 5-9pm weekly on Mondays) that offers students the opportunity to learn, grow and compete at a higher level than our singular class training and shows allow. Students must be entering 9th grade or in their High School years in order to qualify. We will start with a Musical Theater track and work towards offering Dance, Voice, Acting, and Film tracks as well. We are also moving towards partnering with accredited academic programs that ensure that students can use the work we do at SOPA Austin towards their high school diplomas.

SPOTLIGHT ACADEMY is an audition entry program. We will take a select number of SOPA Austin students. Being enrolled in Academy will count as an enrolled class for Fall, Winter and Spring sessions for the 2024/2025 Season when auditioning for Main Stage Productions.

SPOTLIGHT ACADEMY students will perform one Full Musical Production, a Student Directed One Act (potentially not until 2025/2026), and one performing arts revue per school year. They will also have excellent leadership opportunities within the Academy and within SOPA Austin’s other programs.
