ABOUT THE CLASS
Do you love to sing, but don’t know the “rules”? Do you feel nervous in front of an audience? This is the perfect class for those who wish to improve their voice and confidence! We will explore all things voice in this safe and encouraging space. Students will learn vocal warmups, basic anatomy, ear training, breathing exercises, harmonies and more in this exciting core voice class!You will soon be ready to tackle auditions, singing on stage and even solos!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Bryce Louviere
Early in life, I knew exactly the direction I wanted to take my life in. I taught myself piano at age 4 and found my home on the stage in 3rd grade. Throughout my adolescence, I was involved in church youth group band leadership and eventually moved on to participating in the main church services as pianist and vocalist.
I majored in Music Education and then switched to Vocal Performance at Louisiana College. I was active in the theatre department where I played supportive roles in musicals and assisted as vocal coach to main characters. I was also commissioned to compose and produce a score for an original production put on by the Theatre of Louisiana College.
My professional career began the summer of my freshman year where I was asked to apply for an internship in Georgia. During my time there, my main objective was to create and lead a self-sustaining youth worship group. When I left, I had achieved that goal and taught the youth there how to keep up the band.
After moving back to Lake Charles, I was offered a job as a music director at St. Andrew Presbyterian where I helped plan the weekly worship services along with grander musical events. The church alternated between traditional and contemporary styles. For the latter half of my time here, I also doubled as the pianist for traditional services.
Some time after college, I decided I wanted to open my own studio. Officially starting in 2018, I learned the ropes of small business, and provided private voice and improv piano lessons. In a year, I grew to over 25 students until the 2019 COVID pandemic. I had big plans for the business that were underway until Hurricane Laura hit and caused me to relocate to Austin.
I had to start from scratch. I found myself a part of 3 - 4 studios at a time, traveling for in-home piano lessons. After 2 years, family problems called me back to Lake Charles, where I found work at First Presbyterian Lake Charles and Henning Memorial United Methodist as a cantor and music minister. I continues lessons on the side.
Throughout my career, I’ve also worked with many local theatres as music director. I directed children and adults alike and discovered my love for directing. I was involved with Black Market Theatre, ACTS Theatre, Little Theatre Lake Charles, Christian Youth Theatre (Austin & Lake Charles branch), and Shine On Performing Arts in Austin. It didn’t take much to convince me that this is what I wanted to do with my life. I love the theatre and what it gives the world. We’re storytellers and we’re important. I look forward to touching many more lives through my work and building more beautiful stories as my career continues.
